For the past few hours we can observe a review bombing of DayZ Frostline DLC. It was inspired by the Lemonade ATTC in his newest video.
What it is?
In case you don’t know – review bombing is a common practice for gaining developers and publishers attention or giving strong response and opinion about certain decisions or content put within the game. Certain communities, often lead by some influencer or other known persons, starts giving negative reviews for the specific product.
Reasons may vary, some people do it because of their worldview, religion, historical or national events, but very often also because of the poor quality of the product, little content in relation to the price or for things unrelated to the game, but due to the developer’s decisions taken regarding some other matters.
How is the situation with Frostline DLC?
In that case it looks like the content creator wanted to raise attention of the general DayZ state and content of the new Frostline DLC. There few points made as a sum up:
- lower the price of the Frostline DLC and DayZ Standalone
- finish and polish Sakhal so it is fully playable
- fill it with the content and improve the quality
- improve and polish the content of the base game
- consider moving from passive to active support for the game
- change priorities of innovation, changes and fixes
- real technical improvements
- improve QA and attract more programmers to work on a game
- remove Deluxe edition until the game offers something valuable
As you can see, his community and other people attracted by the video or started action, decided to give out negative reviews. DayZ developers already responded to the previous video with below response. What do you think, how this whole situation will end?
