Last week Bohemia Interactive announced a streamer event and a new platform for cooperation between publisher and content creators. Everything is focused on showcasing the new Frostline DLC that is upcoming to DayZ on 15th of October.
Who will be accepted for the DayZ Creator Program?
Firstly, it’s focused on promoting the game and an upcoming DLC. Content creators that apply to this program are selected based on a few factors. Since it is a big PR event for the company, they are carefully picking authors that would be able to showcase the new map Sakhal based on their audience size and familiarity with the game mechanics and its limitations. During the first week of the event, streamers from the DayZ community are prioritised, those that are still active but also past DayZ streamers.
For the second week, more people will be introduced. It will be opened for other content creators, not only big names but also smaller ones, together with the members of the press.

Game build for the event
As announced by the Scotty (marketing and brand manager for DayZ), the game build that will be played during the event is the different one that will be released to the public. It should contain all the gameplay mechanics that will be on the release date, but it may contain some bugs or glitches that were already solved but they were not included in that specific build. This is common for game developers to work on “branches” and it is not always possible to deliver the newest builds with all the fixes at the current time. Developers need to make sure that the build for the event is stable and nothing is breaking the game, including the fixes. Sometimes late fixes for trivial bugs or glitches can break something, so that is why the newest and latest game builds are not often available on demand, they need some more testing.
Servers capacity
It may happen that servers will be full. There are some reserves and additional resources but developers want to keep every server at the highest possible population so they can stress test the new map and infrastructure.
What about modders?
Few modders that are also content creators, will also take part in the event. However, the whole modding community was not invited to the event because the DayZ Team wants to avoid spoilers and opening the game files that will come with the newest update. It is common for the modding community that they do “data mining” to get deeper knowledge about the changes that were made or things that may be coming in the near future. Also they want to have an organic content, not the inspired by the findings in the files.
Will DayZWorld.com participate in it?
For now the portal is involved in the event, however there is a chance for it. Once it is known, details will be shared in the another article.
